Can someone remove a wikipedia page?
For the sake of protecting Wikipedia articles, only administrators may delete Wikipedia pages. Page deletion is typically a long process, but there are some special scenarios where a speedy deletion may be applicable.
To request a speedy deletion of a page you did not create yourself, edit the page and add “{{delete | [your reason] }}” to the top. Note that this may only delete the text on the page until an administrator decides to remove the page entirely.
Can I delete my own Wikipedia page?
You can, however, delete any Wikipedia page you’ve created yourself. Simply edit the page and add the text “{{db-author}}” to the top of the page. If other people have contributed to the article, then it will be a longer process to delete the page.
It is generally advised to try to improve a Wikipedia page than to try and delete it altogether.
Why did my Wiki page get removed?
Wikipedia pages are often removed for copyright violations, using non-free content, vandalism, blatant advertising, spam, and overall nonsensical material. Some pages may be deleted because attached files may no longer be available.
If you believe your page was wrongfully deleted due to copyright infringement, you should contact the owner of the text or media you used and ask for them to release the media to the public domain or with an acceptable license with Wikipedia.
An administrator may propose a page deletion and after seven days, if no one contests, the page will be deleted. If you aren’t the author of the page and disagree with the deletion proposal, you can simply edit the page and remove the deletion tag.
Why did my Wikipedia edit get removed?
Much like page deletion, a Wikipedia edit may be removed if the content triggered vandalism or disruptive editing. This may have happened if you wrote too much original content without proper references, or with proper references but incorrect citations.
Your Wikipedia edits may have been flagged for removal if they met the previously mentioned deletion criteria, or, if the writing in question doesn’t maintain a neutral point of view or is inappropriate.
How do I see who edited me on Wikipedia?
If you’d like to see who has edited your page or any page on Wikipedia, simply navigate to the top of the page and click on the “history” tab. From there you will be able to see the usernames of every writer and editor on that article.
How do I get my Wikipedia page back?
Only administrators are allowed to view deleted Wikipedia pages because of possible copyright infringement. Administrators are also the only users who can restore deleted pages, if deemed appropriate.
You may view the Special:Log/Delete page to view the 50 most recent page deletions. Or, you may search for your deleted page at Wikipedia:Deletion Log. Note that there is a specific and sometimes lengthy process for undeleting pages.
